Working in STaRSAt STaRS our mission is to connect students who have an interest in technology with work experiences that both develop their skills and provide opportunities for personal growth. We take pride in bringing students together with some of the best job experiences in the Washington University community. STaRS members are full time Wash U students -graduate or undergraduate - in good academic standing. Don't think you need to be an engineer to work with us. We have a variety of work opportunities, and we seek students from every area of study. If you are interested in technology, gaining real work experience, and developing your skills, then we are interested in you. NOTE: Because we think it important that our students succeed academically, we don't accept first semester Freshmen. If this applies to you, but you are still interested in the STaRS Program, we would love to hear from you. We will consider you once you reach your second semester at the University. As a STaRS student you will be a part-time employee of the hiring department we match you with, usually working between 8-12 hours per week, up to a maximum of 25 hours per two week pay period. Additionally, STaRS students are some of the best paid student employees on campus, with many jobs starting at $10/hr and increasing with experience. Some departments may also offer full-time positions during the summer. We partner with hiring departments in every Wash U. campus. On the Danforth campus we partner with Student Technology Services, Olin Business School and the School of Social Work. At the North Campus, we partner with Network Services and Support (NSS), and at the West Campus, with Information Services and Technology (IS&T), as well as the Center for the Application of Information Technology (CAIT). |
